A crucial element of our team at SurfacePrep is a production team member-finisher. Finishers often begin by learning how to manually finish various pneumatic hand tools on various landing gear components. As the skill set develops, the possibility to polish medical implants or other metals to a mirror sheen may follow cross training on aeronautical engine components.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to company standards and specifications as well as federal and state legislation.
• comply with safety regulations, wearing PPE as necessary (ie. Safety glasses and hearing protection)
• a readiness to pick up tips from more seasoned metal polishers.
• Possessing the ability to use and control hand tools.

Minimum necessary proficiency:

• familiar with the industrial setting
• the capacity to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment are among the specific vision skills needed.
• demonstrated capacity for working autonomously with little guidance

Desired Qualities

• GED or a high school diploma
• working knowledge of the manufacturing industry
• skilled at deburring, polishing, and/or finishing by hand
