Overview:
Supports D-H peer review process by providing prompt and effective consultation to clinical leadership regarding Medical Staff Member professional conduct to ensure best practices with respect to peer review and to track and trend provider performance.
Responsibilities:- Interacts with clinical leadership to support and educate them on the Peer Review Program.
- Works in conjunction with the Medical Staff Affairs Committee (“MSAC”) to coordinate the D-H peer review process.
- Serves as the first point of contact for members of clinical leadership seeking guidance on professional conduct matters. Performs intake, works collaboratively with legal council and employee relations as needed, and facilitates the review and resolve of professionalism concerns.
- Oversees peer review data entered into the D-H system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintains knowledge of Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies standards and/or regulations pertaining to the peer review process.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the D-H Professional Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and policies.
- Provides support and assistance to clinical leaders as necessary to facilitate the D-H peer review process by coordinating cases referred for peer review.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional HR or Risk management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, process design, collaboration, teamwork and problem solving to achieve goals and successfully manage multiple competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, leadership/mentoring skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the D-H system and strong oral and written communications skills required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals at all levels to facilitate the peer review process.
- Ability to review, summarize and analyze medical records.
- Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet software, data entry and analysis required.
