This role reports directly to the Managing Director Finance-IL. You will be working with areas across the Finance and collaboratively with Program and Development teams to provide leadership, financial strategic direction for budgets and reporting for the Lake County division while maintaining Finance objectives and policies. This collaboration will include facilitating regular touchpoint meetings with multiple areas to ensure consistent and open communication; including with Finance counterparts
Reporting to the Managing Director Finance-IL, you will:
- Support the Managing Director Finance-IL over the construction budget for the new school in Lake County. Tracks spending against the budget and keeps Start Early leadership informed of progress.
- Complete development for agency grant budgets. In addition, interact with Program and Development to assist them with the preparation and submission of the proposed budgets for external funding opportunities to various funding agencies.
- Prepare and maintain the 5-year budget for Lake County.
- Complete production of internal monthly financial reports to track spending against budget, meet regularly with Program to discuss grants spending strategy for identified grants, and keeps supervisor informed of progress.
- Prepare and submit funder reporting timely and accurately.
- Support the Managing Director Finance-IL to oversee and manage the budget for the interim Lake County school.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum five years of related experience in tracking capital expenditures and grant and contract administration.
- Advance knowledge and use of Microsoft Office; specifically excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and analytical skills required.
- Ability to work well with a variety of constituents and other departments.
- Deep commitment in advancing diversity, racial equity, and inclusion into organizational routines and practice.
- Effectively establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
- Comfort and experience in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.

Base Annual Salary: $72,000 - $88,000
We believe that all employees should be paid fairly and equitably. As of the time of this posting, this is the expected base annual salary range. The base annual salary will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, as well as business needs and limitations.
