DutiesIs a recognized subject matter expert in program operations planning and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive
May act as a principal analyst to evaluate, analyze, and develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques or as a team leader to define and direct challenging projects/programs/activities
Shares responsibility for the performance of programs/projects that frequently affect more than one LOB/SO or the FAA as a whole.Performs duties in preparation of the AAM Continuity of Operations (COOP) program to include COOP planning, reconstitution planning, devolution planning and emergency operations planning; as well as test, training and exercise requirements.Applies experience and expert knowledge in analyzing and evaluating programs which includes work task involved with conducting functional activities for the continuity of operations program and in support of other projects/programs that often requires the development of innovative approaches
Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives
Typical assignments include providing subject matter expert guidance to managers, FAA employees, less-experienced professionals, and team members; leading large project/program teams; defining and developing internal policies and procedures; predicting potential issues and proposing preventive actions
Analyzing technical aviation and organization performance information, forecast trends, and perform other related analyses.Supports the regional Crisis Response Steering Group (CRSG) and the regional Crisis Response Working Group (CRWG) during all events.Identifies annual travel, space, supplies and equipment requirements for National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA) support of emergency operations to ensure that emergency plans can be executed.Contacts are internal and external
Often represents the major subdivision and LOB/SO as a principal point of contact to provide expert advice and guidance on the applications of policies and procedures
Formulates and recommends to senior management positions on major projects/policies/issues
Prepares, reviews, and recommends approvals of major reports on projects, programs, and other work activities for internal and external distribution
Develops briefings to convey strategic vision and/or organizational policies to internal and external audiences
Coordinates, as needed, with federal, state, and local entities before, during and after an emergency to facilitate FAA's preparedness, response, and recovery
Participates in federal, state, and local emergency planning efforts and applicable exercises.Provides medical planning and COOP program expert guidance and support to regional LOB/SO
Familiar with and understand operation center procedures and policies.Perform duties in support of Emergency Operating Facility (EOF) activities.Communicates with management, other AAM employees and team members, performs analysis on programs, and collaborates and support other regional programs and functions, as needed.Work is typically reviewed only at completion for success in achieving planned results
Has broad discretion to ensure the alignment of organizational goals and policies and the requirements of the projects and/or other work activities.This position requires regular access to documents and information at the Top Secret/SCI level
