Job Title: ProgramCoordinator (Dutchess County Family Support Services)
Status: Exempt, 40 hours per week
Salary: $69,000-$71,000, plus weekly on call stipend
Reports to: Director of Family Support Services
Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Dutchess County Family Support Services is responsible for supervising and leading the Dutchess County Family Education Program (DC FEP). The Coordinator ensures that services are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and best practices. The Coordinator works alongside the Director of Family Support Services and Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services to maintain high quality standards in service to Dutchess County families while meeting target outcomes, goals and objectives. Key functions of this role include program adherence to agency’s human resources and fiscal policies, standards, and principles; assist with staffing by recruiting, interviewing, and recommending candidates for direct reports; assist in budget management in partnership with the Director; provide training and professional development opportunities for team members; participate and attend monthly Learning Collaborative meetings for professional and leadership development. The Coordinator is expected to carry a small caseload of Preventive Cases. The Coordinator should enthusiastically support, practice, and communicate the agency’s mission and statement of values.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must have a Master’s degree in social work or equivalent (mental health counseling, psychology, or related human services field).
- A valid New York State license to practice Social Work or mental health counseling, or Psychology.
- At least 3 years of experience in child welfare.
- Must possess supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices related to child welfare.
- A background in the provision of direct services in a home-based setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership, supervision, and management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Commitment to cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed practices.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to frequently and efficiently travel to client homes and community meetings.
- Participate in the DC FEP on call rotation to ensure active clients have support 24/7.
- Be available to support the DC FEP Team as they provide 24/7 services throughout Dutchess County.
- Be willing to transport clients in their personal vehicle, if needed, and meet agency requirements regarding insurance regulation.

Job Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision to four staff including two Social Workers, one Case Manager, and one Program Assistant.
Key Responsibilities for DC FEP:
- Provide Leadership to the Dutchess County Family Education Program team (four direct reports), including setting performance expectations and conducting performance evaluations.
- Obtain and/or maintain Family Check-Up and SafeCare training and certification (training will be provided) to monitor fidelity to evidence-based program models in the provision of direct services.
- Execute the implementation of evidence-based programming with a caseload of up to five to six clients. In the event of a staff vacancy, the Coordinator may be assigned additional cases in order to ensure that the Family Education Program meets target outcomes, goals and objectives in service to Dutchess County families.
- Develop and implement program goals, policies, and procedures that align with agency, departmental, and contractual objectives.
- Ensure that all services provided by the team are in compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices, and that the team is providing services that are in the best interests of the children and families served.
- Collaborate with other departments and community partners to provide a comprehensive array of services to families and children.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and ensure that all staff documentation is completed in a timely manner and in compliance with funder expectations state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices. This includes the review of staff Family Assessment Service Plans (FASPs) in order to ensure compliance with County expectations.
- In partnership with the Director of Family Support Services, ensure quarterly outcome measures are completed in a timely manner as required and outlined by contract.
- Conduct regular case reviews in partnership with Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services to ensure that services are meeting the needs of children and families and that the team is providing high-quality services.
- Organize and participate in the Family Education Program’s on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
Community/Partner Liaison
- As a representative of the Agency, shares our values, knowledge, and skills with other organizations, community groups, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders. Maintains good relationships with stakeholders and partners to advocate for clients and those working in the field of human services.
- Assist Director in being a liaison to funding sources and community partners.
- Participate in monthly meetings with Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services to discuss programmatic challenges and work towards solutions.
- Participate in program outreach to the community and expand service reach by researching community organizations and providing community outreach through presentations.
Quality Improvement
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of services and programs, and the performance of staff to ensure that programs and staff performance meet agency and regulatory bodies’ standards.
- Meet with the Director on a timely and regular basis to provide updates on the status of programs; to identify problems in programs, staffing, services, funding, and community; to propose solutions, to recommend policy and program initiatives and to implement solutions as appropriate.

Work Environment: Position is located at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie. Office setting, in the community, and travel to offsite home visits, meetings and events is required.
