The Downtown YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater Richmond, is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for two Program Directors to lead our Wellness and Membership departments in our brand new, state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of downtown! Position Overview:
As the Program Director, you will lead the Wellness and Membership departments in best-in-class customer service and member growth strategies. Your role will be integral to ensuring that our new downtown branch offers a welcoming and supportive environment for all. This position involves overseeing and training your part-time team, ensuring program excellence, and driving community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Wellness and Membership departments, ensuring a high-quality member experience and consistent program delivery.
- Develop and expand wellness initiatives that promote healthy living and engagement within the community.
- Drive membership growth, focusing on recruitment, retention, and member satisfaction.
- Supervise and mentor part-time staff, promoting a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure financial sustainability while meeting key performance metrics.
- Build strong relationships with members, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure that the Downtown Y continues to be a vibrant, inclusive hub for individuals and families.
This is a hands-on position that will require afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, with at least 2 years of experience in membership management or wellness programming.
- Prior experience supervising part-time staff is essential, including a proven ability to lead teams and foster collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with daily operational needs.
- Experience managing budgets and program outcomes.
- Proficiency in using membership management software (e.g., Daxko) is a plus.

Compensation/Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: up to $45k based on experience and qualifications.
