Cedars Textile Art Collaborative (TAC) offers Cedars clients a diverse, fun, creative day program environment. We are currently looking for a compassionate, caring Instructor to join the TAC team!
As a TAC Program Instructor, your work will primarily focus on our Kitchen operations where you will act as a job coach and instructor for our kitchen workers. You may choose to pair this position with work in our Seniors Program, working with retired individuals to determine and plan their activities on a daily basis including community-based activities, volunteer projects as well as on-site music and art projects. You might also choose to fill-in in our Animal and Garden program, rounding out your full-time hours.
The TAC Program is set on 22 acres overlooking San Anselmo and includes a community garden, art barn studio space, upgraded kitchen, weaving studio and more!
This position will require some degree of hands on caregiving (help with personal hygiene, toileting, etc.), to the extent that a participant requires. If you are a patient, supportive and creative individual who enjoys helping others succeed, please apply! The hours are M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The rate of pay is $21.75/hour.
Requirements
- Experience working with developmentally disabled people is preferred.
- Experience with or willingness to learn to provide direct caregiving when needed.
- Experience leading, advising, organizing, and motivating groups of people.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- The ability to teach and provide skills in the program areas offered at TAC.
- Willingness to pitch in when/where needed.
- Ability to pass an employment physical including a TB test, and to meet the physical requirements of the job.
- A valid DMV driver's license, a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, and a willingness to drive a passenger van.
- CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
- A good sense of humor is a plus!
