About the Job
International is seeking a Program Manager – Technical to initiate, plan, execute, control and close product programs and manufacturing insourcing programs for commercial vehicles.
Under the direction of the Program Management Organization (PMO) leadership, you will provide comprehensive management of multiple product development programs. The individual will lead cross-functional teams to complete tasks and deliverables and be responsible for success of the program toward achieving quality, schedule and financial targets.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a history of leading program teams in a matrixed organization structure, and success in leading without direct authority in a fast-moving dynamic environment. Ultimate responsibility for the success of the program toward achieving financial, timing and performance targets resides with the Sr. Program Manager.
Responsibilities:- Develop detailed program scope, budget and schedules based on leadership intent
- Develop detailed program schedules and perform critical path analysis using Microsoft Project and other project planning software including cPlace and Jira
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products, services or processes
- Leading resolution of a wide range of complex problems in innovative ways, including issues where precedent may not exist
- Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
- Leading a recurring program Configuration Change Board (CCB)
- Corrective action implementation
- Leading Risk and Issues investigations and mitigation
- May instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to colleagues with less experience
- 25% domestic/international travel including: South America, Mexico and Europe
- Regularly presents program status to senior management and Executive level audiences
- Identifies needed resources for cross functional program teams
- Manages the program from initiation through delivery, interfacing with internal and external customers
Master’s degree
At least 6 years of technical project/program management experience
At least 1 year of lead experience

- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 8 years of technical project/program management experience
- At least 1 year of lead experience

- At least 10 years of technical project/program management experience
- At least 1 year of lead experience
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Experience with programs developing Software/Hardware together for integration into products
- Understanding of development process for automotive functional software
- Understanding of HIL, Bench, on-vehicle Software and Calibration development / maturity
- Understanding and experience with agile development, including use of Jira for sprint planning
- Experience managing a program with teams in different regions / time zones / cultures
- PMP or PgMP strongly preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt training and/or certification preferred
- Master of Business Administration strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of program finance
- Self-starter and skilled problem solver who follows through
- Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Proficiency in Swedish, Portuguese and/or German is a plus
- Ability to make real-time decisions in the absence of complete or perfect information
- Experience managing product and/or manufacturing programs for North America Truck OEMs, Heavy Equipment manufacturing, or Aerospace/Defense product development or other capital goods business-to-business industries strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a centralized Program Management Office separate from traditional function areas (i.e. Production, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, etc.)
