About the Job
Major/Essential Functions
Coordinate with the Program Director to plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction. Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate or graduate students on topics as required by the Texas College Career and Readiness standards for Reading and Writing. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions and prepare and administer course materials as required by university and departmental guidelines. Maintain student records as required by university and departmental guidelines, including by not limited to attendance records, grades, and student conduct records. Keep abreast of developments and technological advances in the field of Developmental Reading and Writing by reading current literature, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in professional development. Collaborate with the Program Director to hire, train, and manage full-time and part-time Developmental Literacy instructors. Collaborates with the College Readiness Program Directors to implement the recruitment, training, development and assignment of TSI peer mentors. Works closely with the Student Success Specialist for TSI to support students in TSI coursework. Participates in TSI promotion at Red Raider Orientation and Undergraduate Admissions events, in coordination with other College Readiness programs and staff. Evaluate end of semester grades work with the Program director to determine TSI schedule needs for upcoming semesters.Grant Funded?

Master's degrees in area of English or a closely related field with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
