Position Summary:
The Program Manager serves as a key facilitator of arts programming at COCA. The Program Manager designs, hires for and supports arts residencies, after school programs, summer camps, corporate workshops, training programs and other arts integrated professional development in organizations throughout the region. The Program Manager works closely with Teaching Artists, key stakeholders, corporate and nonprofit professionals, community partners, and the COCA Education team. This is a planning and execution heavy role with tight project management required. This position has a large potential to make an impact across our region, for students and adult professionals engaging in arts programming and for the Teaching Artists who support each learning experience.

- Serve as a key member of the COCA Education Team.
- Raise COCA’s visibility by representing Community Programs in meetings with corporate and nonprofit leaders, potential clients, community partners, and other adult professionals.
- Design, plan, price, coordinate, oversee and evaluate professional development workshops, including but not limited to individual workshops as well as multi-workshop training programs at COCA’s on-site location and off-site at clients’ workplaces.
- Design, plan, price, coordinate, oversee and evaluate arts residencies, after school programs and summer camps in the community.
- Work in collaboration with Human Resources to on-board and orient highly qualified Teaching Artists and other facilitators.
- Supervise, observe and evaluate Teaching Artists while they are working in community arts programs.
- In collaboration with COCA Education team, provide constructive coaching and methods for professional development for Teaching Artists.
- Assist in the fundraising for program sustainability by assisting the development of grant narratives and the tracking of grant funding.
- Implement assessment tools and evaluation documentation for measuring program effectiveness.
- Document and maintain program curriculum, updating and implementing new curriculum as needed.
- Collaborate with Education Team and Sr. Director of Finance to establish and oversee an annual budget for Community Programs.
- In collaboration with the Director of Community Programs, ensure annual contracts are up to date and executed with partners.
- This position may agree to teach up to 2 workshops per semester as well as the annual Leading Ladies program.
- Provide high-quality arts instruction for assigned workshops and programs when required.
- Lead classes and programs by example and model professionalism to learners through conduct, attitude, attendance and punctuality.
- Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
- Prepare materials, coordinate and obtain equipment, materials and supplies for classes and programs.
- Understand and adhere to policies and procedures explained in the Teaching Artist Appendix.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/ or Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; advanced degree and/or significant professional experience preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of relevant experience in a similar position required.
- Experience working with adult learners required.
- Technical fluency in one or more artistic disciplines is required.
- One (1) – three (3) years’ experience with project management is required.
- Experience in education, arts education, arts learning, and/or community partnerships work preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Experience managing others is preferred.
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational skills including but not limited to: stooping, kneeling, walking, lifting, grasping, pulling, standing, and talking.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs as well as circulate the building.
- Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Must have access to reliable personal transportation for travel to community partnership sites, mileage reimbursement available. Position eligible for hybrid work setting.
