THE OPPORTUNITY
The Program Manager, Veteran Recruitment and Partnerships will bring tactical realization to ActivateWork's Veteran Affairs program to generate a robust pipeline of learners affiliated with the U.S. Armed Forces. Our goal is to empower at least 50 Veterans, Transitioning Military, and Military Spouses to forge careers in tech by 2026. The Program Manager, Veteran Recruitment and Partnerships will work to ensure a strong foundation for an exciting new initiative at ActivateWork, developing and executing the relationships, processes, and tools needed to ensure the program is successful.
This full-time position is for a Veteran with a strong passion for and experience in serving and supporting Veteran communities.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
This role will be responsible for a series of tasks that include, but are not limited to, the following:
Partner Cultivation
- Identify and establish relationships with partner grantees, US Armed Forces support organizations, military bases, and Veteran-friendly employers who can provide: a strong source of prospective learners for training, support services for learners and hiring opportunities for alumni.
- Develop/coordinate Army Career Skills Program and DoD SkillBridge opportunities.
- Grow, nurture, and oversee relationships with key stakeholders by providing responsive and high-quality communication and rapport-building.
- Lead partnership design activities to identify opportunities for collaboration, negotiate key partnership responsibilities, and develop MOUs.
- Lead ActivateWork's application for GI Bill status and other Veteran funding opportunities.
- Work with internal departments to ensure ActivateWork meets grant and partner expectations.
Internal Cross-team Collaboration
- Advance Veteran recruitment opportunities in local markets and problem-solve or elevate pipeline workflow roadblocks.
- Work closely with Learner Support and Talent Solutions teams to achieve OKRs.
- Meet regularly with the marketing team to develop and support marketing campaigns and outreach efforts that focus on customized recruitment materials, local partnerships, and advertising on military platforms.
- Partner with the Alumni Engagement team to uncover connections with Veteran alums.
- Meet as needed with the Per Scholas Learner Support team to stay up to date on individualized resources and services that support the unique barriers Veterans, and their families face to encourage retention.
- Support the Per Scholas Learner Support team as they explore all avenues to provide full access to military benefits while enrolled and submit comprehensive applications to eligible training provider lists.
Data Operations
- Oversee and monitor the organization's Veteran recruitment KPIs and facilitate data check-ins to proactively identify and troubleshoot any challenges and highlight best practices.
- Share partner data and other updates with the Development team for use in progress summaries to Philanthropic Funders.
- Collaborate with the Per Scholas National and ActivateWork Recruitment teams to ensure thorough and adequate data collection in relation to Veteran Recruitment.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION
- 3+ years - Proven experience in building and managing relationships with military organizations and veteran-friendly employers.
- 3+ years - Experience with veteran recruitment strategies and resolving recruitment pipeline issues.
- 2+ years (preferred) Experience working with veteran-specific career transition programs like the Army Career Skills Program and DoD SkillBridge.
- Strong communication skills, with a track record of developing partnerships and negotiating responsibilities.
- Capability to work effectively across teams to support organizational goals and enhance veteran support services.
- Proficiency in managing and analyzing recruitment data to improve processes and report to stakeholders.
- Military and veteran cultural competency is required.
WHAT OUR ORGANIZATION IS PROVIDING
- Expected annual salary range of $80,000 - $90,000 based on experience.

This role is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 1 day per week in our Denver office.
