About the Job
The Combat Weapons Systems (CWS) Facility Management Group is responsible for development and maintenance of hotel services provided within all of the CWS laboratory facilities. This includes collecting requirements from Lab and Integration teams to validate requirements and working with EB facilities, EB security, government contractors etc. to implement them.
In this position the candidate will be a D448 Program Representative. You will support technical resolutions for a variety of complex construction issues for VIRGINIA & COLUMBIA Class Submarines.
A successful candidate will:
- Build, manage, and maintain government owned properties, calibrated equipment databases and act as a single point of contact to ensure proper tracking of customer assets in Department 448’s custody. The candidate will also provide support and coordinate access to closed areas. This includes working with EB Security to ensure physical security policies are met for areas under D448 purview.
- The candidate will provide status reports and metrics to management and/or the customer as needed. They will develop status and analyze department specific integrated project schedules to support task planning, identify conflicts and support status efforts to help ensure timely project completion.
- The candidate will develop resource pools for resource allocation, generate project schedule reports, communicate schedule impacts. They will also coordinate with project management and applicable stakeholders to provide recommendations for corrective actions. Use of critical path methodology, analysis, and problem resolution is required.
- The position requires coordination with project management, customers, team leads, and functional leads. You will work with system engineers, deck plate technicians, government program offices, vendors and military personnel for delivered submarines in support of engineering efforts that will extend to the analysis and resolution of fleet identified problems, assessment of obsolescence issues, and implementation of modernization programs and facilities upgrades.
- The candidate could expect to perform duties such as communicating to EB Fire to disable sensors under floor tiles to complete a job, working with EB IT to have new network or power drops installed within an area of a lab, ensuring the proper security markings are placed on items being shipped out of their building, arranging pickup and drop off of equipment with EB transportation and other vendors used, organizing and completing material sightings required for Special Property requirements.
This position may require an occasional 2nd shift depending on department needs, approximately 3-4 times per year.
Qualifications:Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3-6 years of relevant experience
- Two or more years of experience tracking items or assets in a formal cataloging system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project with tangible experience managing projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with demonstrated ability to provide metrics..
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
Preferred:
- Experience working with resource loaded integrated schedules and perform critical path analysis.
- Knowledge of Electric Boat policies and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Familiarity with Electronic Desktop (7G, Work Orders, ELCADD, ERS, etc.)
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform typical schedule integrity checks and critical path analysis.
