Program Resource Specialist - Weatherization - Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency

Join our Weatherization Team and be a part of our mission in helping households gain comfort, while drastically reducing their electric and gas bills.

The Weatherization Program Resource Specialist is responsible for screening clients for eligibility and providing energy efficiency and conservation awareness. This position performs client intakes in a face-to-face setting, reviewing client's financial information and processing detailed information without errors. Educates clients on the weatherization program, referrals and related education program guidelines. Serves as a liaison between community partners, clients and agency staff. Supports the weatherization administrative team.

This position works four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Thursday 7:00am-5:30pm.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirementslistedbelow are representativeof the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATIONand/orEXPERIENCE

• Associate's degree in related field.
• Twoyearsof related social service experience
• Equivalent combination of education andexperience may be considered

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Driverqualifications are required forthis Valid driver license, insured vehicle available foruseon the job,and a satisfactory drive record forthe previous three years are required
• Candidatemust pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment
• Candidatemust pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITES

• Ideal candidateswill possess two or moreyears of delivering educational and resource information to adults.
• Basicproficienciesin computers, and MS Office products, database softwareandweb
• Must possess excellent planning, organization and time management
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally andin written form
• Bilingual or multi-lingual skills are helpful, but not required.
  • To qualify as bilingual, staff must pass a bilingual exam demonstrating fluent speaking, reading, and writing in English and Spanish. Eligible bilingual staff will receive a pay differential based on language test results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended tobe all-inclusive. Employeewillalso perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

• Provides support forclient-tracking,service delivery, follow-upreporting, maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Thoroughly explains eligibility requirements to qualifyforservices to potential clients,andanswers questions regarding program services
• Fills in for front office staff as needed
• Prepares client template letters and other correspondence as needed.
• Schedules and conducts client intake appointments both in the office and in the field, as necessary.
• Develops educational materials to support energy education services.
• Develops energy conservation workshops, educational tools, and outreach materials for community partners and events.
• Researches vendors and products for client distribution, places product orders.
• Tracks inventory of energy education and promotional items.
• Maintains Energy Education budget and compiles reports,
• Establishes and maintains an active working relationship with community partners and attends community partner meetings
• Makes presentations and performs consumer education about weatherization programs/services to community groups, churches, civic associations and social services organization staff and their participants to expand community awareness for weatherization services.
• Finds and makes connections with community partners; registers program for events
• Attends outreach events and informs households about the services that they may be eligible for.
• Analyzes data on energy consumption
• Attend and engage in required annual trainings.
