Summary You will oversee and manage the Aviation Systems Division software operations requests and serve as lead administrator for the Systems Administration and Software Operations teams. You will manage software operations and system administration staffing and requirements as well as assess and identify risks associated with systems infrastructure, propose mitigations, and help execute mitigations. Responsibilities Apply a full range of subject matter methods, principles, practices, and evaluative methodologies sufficient to advise on and/or resolve a range of operational and/or strategic issues which may range from recurring through complex and unprecedented. Utilize a wide range of subject matter practices, laws, regulations, policies, and precedents. Use a range of analytical methods to identify, evaluate, and recommend appropriate solutions. Plan, direct and/or coordinate administrative or management subject matter work which requires the application of the knowledge of administrative or management subject matter or program area. Conduct studies and develop recommendations using the application of appropriate methodologies. Resolve a range of administrative and/or management subject matter problems that require the application of logical thinking in order to break down the problem into its component parts. Oversee computer system administration, architecture development, and software operations at various locations within the Aviation Systems Division. Prioritize day-to-day tasks, projects, and the resolving of incidents for the system administration staff. Work with system administration staff and other related departments within the agency to resolve issues. Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Coordinating or supporting the delivery of cloud services to meet diverse project and customer needs; Contributing to the development of new strategies for software deployment plans and initiatives; Providing strategic recommendations to stakeholders for improving system architecture and security.
