Position Summary:
Advancia Government Services (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Program Supervisor to provide assistance to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI), under the Aerospace Medical Certification Division (AMCD). This position will provide successful management of approximately 70 employees to provide sufficient day to day operations responsible for the administration of the US program to medically certify holders of US pilot certificates, ensuring airmen are medically fit to fly. This is not a remote position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with COR to address questions and resolve issues
• Manage activities in their assigned section
• Train new employees
• Monitor and evaluate staffing
• Monitor section productivity and backlog
• Provide guidance to section employees
• Handle issues or escalate to supervisor as appropriate
• Distribute policy updates to section employees
• Report any supply or equipment issues to the supervisor and COR
• Perform functions as the alternate to on-site supervisor
• Perform ad-hoc projects as requested by the COR
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in certification services or services of similar magnitude
• Must have three (3) years’ experience supervising 30 or more employees
• Experience with medical records and/or medical terminology preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to work independently and solve problems
• Competent in Microsoft Office, the FAA’s email system, and applicable FAA IT systems
• Ability to develop and edit reports
• Ability to prepare and deliver reports to the COR
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Must maintain effective communication in all communication with contract staff and FAA personnel
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:
• The work is generally sedentary but there may be some walking, standing, bending or climbing and carrying of small and light objects.
Additional Requirements:
• Selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
• Selected candidate subject to background check
• Position contingent upon award of contract
