This full-time position follows a regular Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week) work schedule. Although the position offers the opportunity to telework from home, occasional in-person attendance at the CSIU Main Office, located in Milton, PA, and inperson visits to clients, meetings, and trainings in Pennsylvania will be required. Transportation to the Main Office is the employee’s responsibility. Certain requirements based upon CSIU telework policy and administrative regulations must be met. The CSIU has the right to cancel or suspend the employee teleworking privileges at any time, for any or no reason, due to the requirement of the CSIU and client needs.
JOB ASSIGNMENT: Client Support
JOB DEFINITION: Responsible for entry-to-mid level programming changes.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to the Student Applications Support Manager or in their absence, to the Director of Computer Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop new or modify existing code for primarily entry-to-mid level tasks.
- Test and debug code to ensure it matches the outlined business requirements.
- Analyze conversion data, write conversion scripts and convert data for new clients. Mentor other staff in reviewing data and guiding clients through the conversion and implementation process.
- Analyze system and functional needs for third party integration requirements. Including but not limited to Google Classroom, Clever, Schoology, PrimeroEdge.
- Create custom, specialized reports for clients. Test own programming changes to ensure accuracy prior to releasing for support testing.
- Research and resolve client inquiries. Consult with other support staff as necessary to provide resolution to the client.
- Participates in design sessions with team members.
- Provide one-on-one client training and demos for specific applications.
- Update or enter support tickets with statistics on and resolution to client issues handled.
- Participate in topic groups as assigned by the supervisor.
- Provide phone path substitute function as requested.
- Notify the supervisor if the issue is beyond the scope of available support staff.
- Alert the supervisor of recurring issues so that a more permanent solution to the issue may be determined.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Applications Support Manager or designee.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field required. Will consider a high school diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) with completion of a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary education and five (5) years of related work experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- One (1) year of database experience is needed. Structured Query Language (SQL) database experience is preferred.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Visual Studio, SSMS, and Microsoft .NET Framework is preferred.
- An understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices is preferred.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel) as well as using virtual meeting platforms, such as Zoom, Skype and Microsoft Teams.
- Requires complex problem-solving skills to identify problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Requires self-starting skills as well as being detail-oriented.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to coordinate and prioritize the tasks based on project deadlines as several projects can be assigned simultaneously.
- Must have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with non-technical team members and/or clients.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff members, as communicating customer needs depends on this.
- Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for working with clients.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current, approved Act 34 (PA State Police), Act 151 (PA Child Abuse Registry), and Act 114-FBI Fingerprint clearances are required and must be renewed at appropriate, specific intervals pursuant to Act 153 of 2014 (revised Act 15 of 2015).
- Current, approved Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training certificate showing completion of a minimum of three (3) hours training every five (5) years.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Continuously refresh, expand, and obtain knowledge of various software and technical areas to advance the capacity to provide services. This includes reading books, trade publications, and utilizing resources and websites available through the internet.
- Attend relevant conferences, trainings, and in-services to maintain and enhance professional development as recommended by the immediate supervisor or as required of this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sedentary: Able to sit for extended periods of time, occasional walking, standing (as necessary) and able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Dexterity: Finger movements (computer keyboard, calculator), eye-hand coordination (office equipment, etc.).
- Audio-Visual Requirements: Within normal range with or without correction.
- Is able to move throughout all buildings, floors and grounds.
- Worksite Environment: Primarily indoors-office setting with occasional exposure to outdoor elements/climate during the day.
- Mental demands: Steady response to unpredictable situations, ability to remain calm and productive during stressful situations. Demonstrates independent judgment, discretion and is able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to travel to various work site locations and meetings as needed.
TIME REQUIREMENTS:
- This is a full-time exempt position following a twelve-month work schedule. Occasional overnight travel for conferences and training events is required.
- Extra hours may be required during peak workload periods.
- Attendance at work is a requirement of this position; any and all absences must be approved by the immediate supervisor.
