Summary:
The Programmer Analyst II is accountable for the development, implementation, and maintenance of Symitar core processing applications and related software systems. This position serves as a first point of contact for stakeholders seeking Core related technical assistance via phone, email, and the internal ticketing system. This position serves as an escalation point for stakeholders seeking technical assistance for critical business applications.
Attendance and Schedule: This is an onsite position. From time to time, you may be require activities to be performed after hours and/or on weekends or holidays.
Salary:
Pay Range: $80,000 to $95,000.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and configures the Symitar system. Serves as administrator to ensure availability to members, end-users and critical service providers. Identifies efficiencies and optimizes core and other critical services.
- Develop, modify, and maintain Symitar core banking applications or specialized utility programs such as Symitar API (SymXchange), PowerOn, PowerFrame Docs/MicroApps, and OpCon.
- Administers, configures and supports automation, optical, and teller capture systems, SymConnect/SymXchange operations and Symitar front/back end applications.
- Identify problems and determines corrective action including development of custom programs when appropriate.
- Reviews code (QA) and ensures that software development is implemented according to SDLC, sound programming principles, and best practices.
- Through the help desk, provides tier 1 and 2 support for Symitar and other critical applications. Serves as an escalation point for application support.
- Maintain technical and procedural documentation for supported systems/applications.
- Works with vendors to implement new programs/software and troubleshoot any issues with existing programs, software or organizational initiatives.
- Provides mentorship/training to junior-level staff.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
- 3-5 years experience working in a Programmer Analyst role, or similar title.
- Proficiency in PowerOn, HTML/CSS3/JavaScript is required.
- Working knowledge of other programming languages such as SQL, C#, or Java, is preferred.
- Knowledge of relational database management systems is desired
- Knowledge of operating systems is desired.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies such as waterfall or agile.
- Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, and excellent follow-through, with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams.
- Requirement to work nights, weekends, and/or off-hours, with minimal supervision. Month-end (ME) and quarter-end (QE) processing, including statement generation and reports, updates, etc., will require a flexible work schedule.
- Knowledge of Credit Union operations: IT, Accounting, Member Services, Operations, Lending, Audit, Marketing, Fraud, Collections, day-end, month-end and year-end is a plus.
Good credit standing is also required and will be verified during pre-employment stage. Once a contingent job offer is made, a criminal background check and drug screening will be completed.
