Beacon Hill Financial is working with a construction company in Rockville, MD to bring a detail-oriented Project Accountant to their team. In this role, you will manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will collaborate with project managers to track costs, process invoices, and monitor cash flow. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software are essential. Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and financial objectives.
- Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing reports and recommendations.
- Track project costs against budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Prepare detailed cost reports to identify trends and variances.
- Process and verify vendor invoices and payment applications.
- Ensure timely billing to clients and manage accounts receivable.
- Generate periodic financial reports for project managers and stakeholders, including profit and loss statements.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts and projections.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and contractual obligations.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather financial data and provide insights.
- Support project teams in financial decision-making and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate project financial records, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
- Organize and file financial documents in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct financial analysis to assess project performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Utilize accounting software to manage project financials, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Stay updated on software upgrades and best practices.
- Provide training and support to project team members on financial processes and reporting tools.
