About Us:
Cotton Holdings, Inc., a trusted leader in comprehensive disaster response, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team at our subsidiary, Advance Catastrophe Technologies (ACT). As part of our financial team, you will play a key role in supporting project cost management, accounts payable, and reporting functions essential to our operations. This position reports to the Division Controller of ACT Finance.
Cotton Holdings, Inc., a trusted leader in comprehensive disaster response, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team at our subsidiary, Advance Catastrophe Technologies (ACT). As part of our financial team, you will play a key role in supporting project cost management, accounts payable, and reporting functions essential to our operations. This position reports to the Division Controller of ACT Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and reconcile accounts.
- Purchase Order Maintenance: Oversee vendor purchase order management and reconciliation.
- Project Costing Review: Assist in identifying and resolving project costing issues to ensure accurate records.
- Credit Card & Expense Processing: Manage credit card expense submissions and employee reimbursements (via Certify) to maintain timely and accurate records.
- Vendor Compliance: Ensure vendor setup and compliance for back-office vendors.
- Reporting & Analytics: Support weekly reporting dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and analysis for management.
- Financial Audits: Actively participate in financial audits and assist with accounting tasks as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of accounting experience or relevant education required; prior experience in accounts payable preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for effective interactions across all levels of the organization.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and reliability.
- Self-Motivation & Initiative: Demonstrates independence in managing duties, meeting deadlines, and knowing when to escalate issues.
- Organization & Time Management: Proven ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
