RELYANT Global, LLC is currently seeking an experienced Cost Accountant for project based work in Nashville, Tennessee. This position is a hands-on role that requires work with EAC calculation and the use of ERP project software. The Cost Accountant requires good communication skills that exude a positive, customer-oriented attitude. Preference for experience with Department of Defense, Department of Energy or United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) construction projects. This position will require travel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the work sequence structure for a project to ensure effective control of risk management issues, efficient and cost effective work sequencing, and resource allocation
- Periodically review the project status by analyzing actual physical progress and reported activity completion and comparing that information to the project schedule
- Document project progress and changes, forecast project cost and schedule impacts, and communicate progress updates and projections to team members
- Prepare summary and detail level reports which are the fundamental monitoring toll to identify progress and problems with projects
- Utilize the "lessons learned" from other projects to identify potential risk exposures and needed activities and logic changes
- Experience with the USACE Resident Management System RMS 3.0 (preferred)
- Experience with WBS and Earned Value Management System
- Identifying critical path schedule activities and milestones
- Performing schedule and activity optimization
- Performing cost, quantity, and labor resource loading, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting
- Developing baseline documentation to include scoping documents and Basis of Estimates
- Tracking and reporting key performance indicators and milestones
- Performing baseline change control and management
- Interfacing with the Project Delivery Team and resource disciplines to plan and track project tasks and discipline requirements
- Preparing schedule outputs and reports.
- Interfacing with Project Controls Specialists and Project Managers in managing large-scale projects
Education, Skills and Experience
- Prefer Bachelor's degree in technical or financial/business related field
- Minimum of five (5+) years Commercial and/or Government construction project experience
- Prefer experience with Department of Defense, Department of Energy or United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) construction projects
- Intermediate level expertise with MS Office Products, especially Excel
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- PMP/ or related Project Controls certifications desired
