Position Overview:
The position will be responsible for providing research operations support for the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute (CPMCRI). Creates and maintains standard operations artifacts and helps support the execution of departmental processes. Coordinates activities and resources I support of one or more small to medium-sized project(s) that impact multiple departments, systems, and workflows with medium to high risk, scope, size and complexity. Develops and maintains tools, processes, and resources to support the Institution’s infrastructure in conjunction with leadership. Works closely with team members and colleagues in other departments to collect and route information, and assists in managing project timelines and escalates as appropriate. Will perform budget monitoring assistance, process implementation, and administrative support. Duties may include grant planning support and administration. The incumbent will serve as administrative contact and liaison for internal and external departments and constituents within their scope of responsibilities, respectively. Will work with limited degree of supervision in a work environment with multiple and conflicting priorities; anticipates and resolves problems and updates Operations Manager on status of tasks and projects.

EDUCATION:
HS Diploma: High School or General Education Diploma (GED)
Other: College coursework in business, project management, math, economics, health care administration or equivalent education/experience
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years recent relevant experience in performing research administration/business support functions.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of (or the ability to interpret) federal stipulations (Uniform Guidance and FAR) preferred. Experience applying these stipulations to research business processes within a healthcare, academic or research institute setting (preferred).
Working knowledge of general Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMOK) and project management methodologies and/or Sutter Health’s project methodology and project management methodology.
Advanced skills in budget development, analysis and monitoring are preferred.
Experience in preparing regular and ad hoc financial reports is preferred.
Thorough understanding of current trends and strategies in research, particularly in relation to information services.
Advanced knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), and other information technology systems.
Experience using Lawson (financial) and Workday (HR) applications preferred.
Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to maintain schedule within Project Server.

Work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operation.
Perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
Work as part of a team or collaborate with colleagues.
