Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join the Office of Scientific Research Management (OSRM) team. The OSRM is the primary laboratory research arm of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The Department of Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) was established in 1948 to establish laboratory research to promote progress against cancer. We play a critical part in the infrastructure that supports and enhances SKI’s outstanding scientific enterprise.

As the Project Coordinator on the Research Management team, you will build and maintain administrative procedures. Participate, with the Chairman of SKI, program(s) in the planning and implementation of academic activities in the program(s).

Role Overview:

• Function on behalf of the program chairperson in dealings with the program and other professional staff and administration, including direct contact with the Director of SKI, MH administration, and staff, Deans of Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University, and other senior executive officials of SKI
• Coordinate assigned projects relating to faculty recruitment and onboarding, meeting and seminar planning, appointments and promotions, etc.
• Develop ads to be placed online and in scientific journals, providing administrative support for faculty searches and monitoring expenses for program faculty recruitment
• Update and maintain recruitment records in a centralized database, and coordinate materials for presentation to the Recruitment/Search Committee
• Serve as a central source of information and a vetting ground for concerns that may arise from the faculty and trainees
• Develop and maintain a confidential profile of program professional staff. Initiate and make decisions regarding appropriate correspondence to share concerning program information
• Prepare materials for academic review at the programmatic level and ensure timely completion
• Provide administration for grants (e.g. training grants), maintain files of applicants and past and present trainees, monitor grant budget, prepare grant renewal applications and progress reports, and work with the Department of Research Administration and the Office of Sponsored Projects to ensure that all requirements for the grant are met. Communicate with Program Officer at the NIH for guidance, as needed

 Key Qualifications:

• 4-7 years of experience in an administrative setting
• Prefer candidates with experience using web-based applications, supporting academic programs, or working in an academic or research environment
• Project Management and grants experience is a plus

• Skilled at leading teams and fostering a collaborative environment
• Ability to think strategically and provide informed guidance to the team

 Additional Information:

• Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm (hybrid schedule after training)
• Location: 417 E. 68th Street
• Pay Range: $60,000 -$93,100
