Job DescriptionGeneral Summary
Under general supervision, manages all administrative aspects of the project lifecycle to support strategic initiatives. Coordinates, tracks, and advances all assigned projects and organizes the coordination of teams with assistance as new initiatives are identified, authorized, and assigned. Tracks projects metrics and assists in the reporting of outcomes. Develops and monitors project plans for all assigned projects to ensure adherence to approved budget and schedule.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in business administration or related field from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been obtained is strongly preferred.
- One year of project coordination experience required. Healthcare experience is preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to manage small scale project teams. Ability to organize, plan, manage, and communicate small projects and direct the completion of projects within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
- Strategic thinker with sufficient understanding of project functions to structure and manage assigned work. Generates innovative and practical solutions to complex or unusual problems.
- Adept at structuring and managing projects to meet client expectations, deliver value, and minimize potential obstacles and risks. Understands and manages stakeholder needs while prioritizing strategic alignment to deliver business value.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary to produce clear and concise reports of relatively complicated issues.
- Supports client relationship management and oversees project execution and reporting. Possesses excellent customer service skills.
- Acts as lead resource for managing project issues and understands appropriate escalation pathways. Works with team members to make decisions considering the degree of impact on all areas involved. Demonstrated ability to reach agreement and potential solutions through flexibility and compromise with peers, customer/client, and managers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Work is high demand and fast-paced.
- Talking and hearing are necessary for conversations with peers, project team members, patients, and leaders.
- Weekend, shift work, holiday, on-call, and other off-hours work may be required beyond normal tour of duty to complete projects, meet deadlines, or respond to emergencies.
- Work is performed in various environments within UMMS and may include travel to and from the various affiliated institutions within the Medical System.
- Work may be required in a healthcare facility, in which the observance of “Universal Precautions” is mandated.
- “Universal Precautions” involves the wearing of protective clothing/ equipment and the observance of safe work practices.
