Bear IC is looking for an ambitious and flexible Project Engineer to join our crew. In this role your key responsibility will be to assist the project manager and/or superintendent in one or more aspects of a construction project.

A "typical" day looks like:
Estimating/Design
- Supporting estimating process through scope development, material take-offs, and managing requests for quotes from subcontractors
- Reviewing and documenting structural, architectural and MEP drawings through design development process
- Managing submittal process (initiate, review the submittal, maintain a log, and distribute to team as appropriate upon approvals)
- Assisting the Superintendent and PM as requested in developing the schedule
Construction
- Administering and monitoring compliance with construction contracts with Owners, subcontractors, and vendors
- Expediting materials and services for the job site, in conjunction with superintendent
- Preparing daily reports with Superintendent documenting progress, site conditions, photos, etc.
- Collecting, reviewing, and filing quality documentation (test reports, material certs, inspection records)
- Assisting the PM with the management of Project Budget, Budget Revisions, Cost Projections, and Cash Flow Projections
- Assisting PM in the oversight and management of the change management processes
- Owning the RFI process (initiate, expedite, review the response, maintain a log and distribute to team as appropriate)
- Collecting, reviewing, and processing subcontractor payment applications as assigned by the PM. Assisting in compiling owner payment applications
Turnover/Start-Up
- Developing turnover documentation log, collecting required information, review and distribute
- Reviewing as-built drawings for compliance
- Helping coordinate and managing the punch list process
- Coordinating owner-requested warranty requirements during the warranty period
- Scheduling and recording required training
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of previous related experience is required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of budgeting and expense control
- Able to write reports, and business correspondence
- Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
- Able to perform duties independently
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications, and construction management software experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to work overtime hours when required
