Brayman Construction is offering a Project Engineer Co-op opportunity to a University of Pittsburgh student to start as early as the Spring 2023 semester.
As a Project Engineer co-op student, you will be exposed to all aspects of construction project management as well as being a part of major construction projects. Co-op students will have the opportunity to work in our corporate office in Saxonburg, PA, as well as at a few key field projects to gain hands-on experience.
CO-OP PROGRAM INFORMATION
The program consists of various rotations throughout our divisions including heavy civil, foundations, estimating and safety. As a construction / engineering co-op student, you will be exposed to all aspects of construction project management as well as participate in projects in the field. You will have the opportunity to learn and perform the following:
- Coordinating projects and activities
- Preparing project reports
- Computation of cost and preparing estimates
- Analyzing blueprints, proposals, and labor estimates
- Following all safety procedures to complete work
- Performing general labor duties
CO-OP QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled at the University of Pittsburg, Swanson School of Engineering.
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in either Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field.
- Will consider Business Management candidates who have an interest in starting a career in Project Management within the construction industry.
- Must be comfortable working in both an office and construction environment.
- Strong knowledge in blueprint reading and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must have interest in working hard and being challenged daily.
- Must be willing to travel (per diem/lodging provided per company policy).
This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
