About the Job
The City of Collinsville is accepting applications for the full-time position of Associate Engineer. The Associate Engineer reports directly to the City Engineer. Basic responsibilities are to perform professional engineering related work such as planning, designing, budgeting and monitoring/inspecting of City infrastructure projects. The Associate Engineer will serve as a project manager and perform construction oversight, engineering, and administrative work related to water, sanitary, and stormwater systems; vehicular, pedestrian, and cyclist facilities; and other Public Works projects as assigned. Duties include but are not limited to Design and/or oversees the preparation of plans and specifications of various public works projects including sanitary and stormwater pumping stations, street improvements, storm sewers, sewer lines, water mains, and related projects; research project design requirements; perform calculations; prepare estimates of time and material costs and inspect construction projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university, with a minimum of two (2) years of municipal related infrastructure design or construction observation experience.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or the ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred. Candidate must have a valid State Driver's License. Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job shall be considered.
SALARY and BENEFITS
The salary range is $62,912 - $94,576 depending on qualifications. The City of Collinsville offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision and prescription 100% funded by the City for single coverage. Pension is with the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
