Project Engineer - Automated Door Ways

Automated Door Ways, is looking for an experienced Project Engineer for Columbus, GA and the surrounding area. Our technicians repair and maintain doors on location in commercial buildings, hospitals, stores, and more. Automated Door Ways provides the necessary tools, equipment, and vehicles for our team members to meet our customers' needs.

In this role you will...

• Assist with creating weekly install schedule
• Visit sites to verify status
• Coordinate with salesmen for special install fabrication needs
• Oversee and assist with fabrication of installs
• Ensure all parts needed have been ordered and are received for jobs ready to be scheduled
• Contact suppliers for missing, damaged or incorrect parts
• Ensure all parts for installation are pulled and loaded on day of departure from Including caulk.
• Assist with loading jobs into installer vans
• Ensure that parts that return from an install are tagged and a return call is entered. g. - Decals, sweeps, thresholds, break metal, etc.
• Assist with measurements needed for storefront glass orders
• Track incoming shipment ETAs as needed for salesmen
• Fill in for shop personal as needed

You've got what it takes if you have...

• 2+ years of experience in the servicing or installing automatic doors
• 2+ years of Project Management 
• Comfortable using power tools and hand tools – professionally or personally
• Mechanically-minded with a desire to continue learning
• Ready to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques
• Willing and able to work overtime with the possibility of weekends, as necessary
• Willing and able to be on-call, on a rotating basis with other ADW technicians
• Ability to stand, bend, and/or climb for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled environment; lift 75+ pounds; work at heights/use a ladder
• Familiar with basic computer skills, operating phone applications, and general communication via phone/email/messengers/text
• High school diploma/GED
• Unrestricted and valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen

Extra dose of awesomeness if you have...

• 5+ years of experience in one or more of these fields: construction, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, military, mechanical, or similar
• 2+ years of customer service/interaction experience
• Skilled understanding of mechanical, electrical systems, or wiring
• 5+ years using power tools and hand tools in a professional setting
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Organized, with a strong attention to detail
• Familiar with workflow within a construction job site or similar environment
