About the Job
We are seeking a highly-skilled, team-oriented professional to join a growing company. In this position, you will oversee all engineering and technical aspects of our projects to ensure the highest level of accuracy and quality. You will prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects, complying with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
You will be the technical support for our machine shops and work closely with the plant manufacturing teams to determine equipment needs and develop equipment specifications based on those needs. Moreover, you will provide the necessary project documentation and training to support the equipment installation and operation. You will also work with the manufacturing teams to support continuous improvement activities.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements including scope, planning, and execution.
- Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
- Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from vendors.
- Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Maintain quality control in every area (budget, scheduling, planning, personnel performance, team dynamics).
- Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information; and recommending actions.
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization to develop new equipment specifications.
- Investigate and present quote packages to vendors and monitor the RFQ process.
- Provide necessary support for capital expenditure approval, including recommended vendor selection.
- If applicable, design equipment in the appropriate design software (i.e. AutoCAD Inventor).
- Oversee Project Budgeting & Equipment Purchases.
- Perform equipment acceptance run-off and verify equipment meets all of the requirements of the specification.
- Develop standard work for production associates.
- Ensure all necessary deliverables (drawing, spare parts lists, etc.) are provided to the various teams.

- Significant working knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Familiarity and ability to comply with all applicable rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
- Aptitude for working collaboratively with multiple disciplines within teams and projects
- Proven success in the areas of project management and supervision
Educational Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or other related discipline
- 2 years of project management experience working in the manufacturing industry
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years of experience in Plastic Extrusion manufacturing or similar
- Project Management certification is preferred, but not required
- Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred, but not required
