Project Engineer-Heavy Civil Pay Range: $60-70K Annually

Project Engineer-Heavy Civil Pay Range: $60-70K Annually
The DDS Project Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Estimating
- Assist Estimating and Preconstruction departments with preparing cost estimates and reviewing subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Responsible for monitoring field activities and track productions, reporting these results to the Estimating Department.
- Proficient in earthwork, utility, pavement, and site take-offs.
- Solicits and maintains communications with subcontractors and vendors.
- Prepares and maintains the status of plan reproduction.
- Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, conferring with the Project Manager
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements.
- Complete understanding of project plans, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Prepare project schedule and update on a weekly basis with the Project Manager
- Maintain "red line" as built drawings.
- Responsible for obtaining and submitting all material and subcontractor submittals after Project Managers approval.
- Complete and maintain daily Task Hazard Analysis
- Updating Labor, Trucking, Aggregate, Fuel and Equipment logs
- Complete time and materials tickets daily.
- Update daily job logs with productions and quantities.
- Responsible for all photo documentation of the site.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must know MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Project
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have strong organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent.
- 2 - 4 years related experience.
- Familiarity with local Architects, General Contractors, Construction Managers, Property Managers, and Developers.
- Previous heavy civil and site work experience.
