PROJECT ENGINEER: MCPHERSON COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS
The McPherson County Public Works Department is seeking a Fulltime County Project Engineer. Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Kansas, or capable of obtaining the license within six months. The position will be responsible for the design of all County engineering projects, coordination with KDOT, and to assist maintenance activities as needed.
Duties include but not limited to development of annual Road & Bridge program consisting of all drainage structure replacements, asphalt overlays, chip seals; design of all drainage structures including RCHS, steel beam span, CIP-RCB, Precast RCB, and pipes; load rate structures as needed; management of all annual and biennial bridge inspections; design of all road projects; and management of engineering staff including 1 surveyor, 1 design engineer, and two technicians.
Requirements include experience with CAD and various roadway design software programs. Helpful qualifications include: Certifications in Bridge Inspection Team Leader, KDOT-LPA Right-of-Way, KDOT-LPA Project Manager, as well as knowledge and experience related to construction engineering/inspection and construction testing of concrete/asphalt/soil.
