Position Summary
The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, design, and inspection of various capital improvement projects and engineering projects. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Normal Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Engineering: Oversee and manage various capital improvement projects, including the direction of contractors and consultants. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Inspection: Conduct inspections to assess project progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Procurement and Contracts: Manage procurement processes, negotiate contracts, and coordinate construction and professional services.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including residents, contractors, and city officials.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical advice and assistance to other departments, and ensure that projects adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, review pay estimates, and process change orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or related field, from an accredited college or university, with Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) Certification.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri.
- Ability to lift and handle a minimum of 75 lbs.
