PROJECT ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN – ROBOTIC PAINT SYSTEMS
What does the team do?
The Engineering team takes care of the specific automation engineering needs of our customers and integrator partners and in your case this will be focused solely on project managing and overseeing various paint and sealant projects from concept to installation for one specific major customer, most of the time.

What does the team do?
The Engineering team takes care of the specific automation engineering needs of our customers and integrator partners and in your case this will be focused solely on project managing and overseeing various paint and sealant projects from concept to installation for one specific major customer, most of the time.
What you will need to bring to the table:
- Minimum of Associates in an Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 4 years’ work experience in a manufacturing or industrial position related to automation and robotics
- Proven ability to read electrical and / or mechanical drawings
- Proficient in the use of AutoCad
- Some useable experience with robotic painting and / or sealing
- Experience dealing with large automotive manufacturers or Tier One suppliers
- Experience installing paint shop equipment would be a great but not essential
- Sensitive to the needs of all parties in the supplier-customer relationship
- Excellent PC skills (MS-Office, Lotus Notes, etc.)
- Above average communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel as needed up to 50%
How will you be spending your time in this position?
- Reviewing a potential customer’s painting and sealing process and system requirements.
- Assisting with the preparation of quotations and technical proposals.
- Conducting reach studies and developing the overall cell concept and layout.
- Defining and specifying paint and sealant equipment.
- Overseeing the overall system design as well as the specification and procurement of mechanical and electrical parts.
- Overseeing the system build, set-up, test, and run-off.
- Supervising the system installation and startup at the customer’s facility.
- Assisting with system debug and commissioning.
- Ensuring the completion of punch lists and following up with any open items.
- Conducting post installation support.
- This job requires some travel to customer facilities throughout the USA, and maybe occasionally to Canada and Mexico.
