Position Overview
Project Engineer/Tenant Improvement prepare, organize, and follow-up on project procurement. They work on tracking project scopes, contract documents, meeting minutes, job safety, quality assurance, and change order requests. Project Engineers monitor, control, and update project schedules, owner contracts, and construction contracts. P.E.'s will serve as technical source of information on projects, specifications, requests for information, shop drawings, and information transmitted by the project team.
Functions of Position
- Implement assigned duties with an exceptional level of accuracy, timeliness, and cost effectiveness
- Review and process all submittals and RFI's, ensuring compliance with contract documents and in accordance with project needs
- Participates in the bid process and assists owner and project manager in recording and review of bids
- Participates and/or chairs meetings, coordinates agendas, prepares meeting minutes, and follows up on action items
- Prepare all change orders requests and agreement change orders, review pricing and status, ensuring compliance with prime contract. Maintain document files and logs (send to PC for processing)
- Maintain current scheduling information and filing
- Apply for permits and C of O's
- Coordination of utilities as directed
- Maintain and save inspection reports to file
- Upload drawings to Procore
- Establish and manage procedures providing an orderly and systematic process for handling problems and information requests generated through the course of construction
- Maintain a complete and current set of drawings reflecting all changes from the base contract documents; including change order request, addenda, field work orders, ASI's, correspondence and field conditions
- Implement job start-up and close-out procedures as directed by the project manager
- Maintain aerial photos for project; Upload monthly aerials
- Fully understand the scope of all subcontracts, keep project manager and superintendent aware of potential challenges. Initiate and prepare subcontract agreements for project managers final review and approval
- Utilizes safe work practices and follows directives, policies, and procedures for assisting and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment as outlined in LGE's Corporate Safety Manual
- Acquire a thorough knowledge of the contract documents, plans, specifications, owner's contract, and subcontracts
- Assist with pricing of temporary facilities, project site utilization, and permitting
- Provide onsite punch list and project closeout supervision as directed
- May mentor less experienced P.E.'s or Interns
- May delegate action items to other staff as directed
Required Attributes

To be successful as a Project Engineer, you will need to be able to work on tight deadlines, be competent in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, familiarity with construction management software, and have exceptional verbal, written, and organizational skills. Project Engineer should possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the LGE mission. Ability to multi-task; can work within a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, organized, and communicates clearly. Logical, positive and friendly.
Reporting
Project Engineer/Tenant Improvement to report directly to Director of Tenant Improvement.
Evaluation
Annual review by Director of Tenant Improvement to include peer input. Review will be based on interactions and engagement with the TEAM, evidence of how you demonstrate company values, ability to manage workload and competency in the execution of your duties.
