You’ll have the chance to work on a wide variety of projects, collaborating with both public agencies and private clients to develop traffic solutions that make a real impact. You could sit in either of our Connecticut offices (Middletown or Shelton). We offer a hybrid work environment and flexible Fridays in the summer.
Our Transportation Team and Projects
The transportation team focuses on planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of infrastructure projects such as highways, roads, and bridges. They work to ensure that these projects meet safety, efficiency, and environmental standards while accommodating current and future transportation needs. The team collaborates with public and private stakeholders to deliver projects that enhance mobility and connectivity within communities.
What will you be doing?
As a traffic engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and modeling traffic flow to improve road safety and efficiency. This includes designing traffic signals, intersections, and roadways while ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards. You will conduct traffic impact studies, prepare reports, and make recommendations to enhance traffic movement. Additionally, you will collaborate with public agencies, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver transportation solutions that address community and client needs.
What do you need?
To qualify for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and have 3 to 8 years of experience in traffic or civil engineering, with hands-on experience in traffic analysis and roadway design. Additionally, you must either be a registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut or have the ability to obtain licensure within one year of starting the position. Licensure in other New England states will be considered a valuable differentiator, demonstrating a broader regional expertise that can benefit the variety of projects you will be involved in.
