Join us and let’s get started. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a **Project Engineer** to be based in **Waterloo, IA.** The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced civil engineer. + Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. + Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. + Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. + Identifies discrepancies in results. + Provides guidance to entry level engineers. + Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. + Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering work such as roadway, sidewalk, recreational trail, and infrastructure. + Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + BA/BS in Engineering, Construction or related field + 4 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Professional Engineer license in Iowa or ability to acquire one within 6 months of employment. + Valid Drivers License + Previous coursework in, or experience working with Iowa DOT **Preferred Requirements:** + 7 + years’ experience in roadway and infrastructure design project performance and deliveries + Familiarity with Iowa DOT, and local agency specifications, policies and procedures + Computer proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe and Bluebeam + Ability to proactively communicate with project teams leadership and department staff + Alternative delivery experience a plus! **Additional Information** All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
