Job description
General Contractor is seeking a Project Foreman working under the Project Superintendent for Industrial, Commercial, and DOT Projects. Must have experience with Sitework & Underground Utility Projects.
Job Responsibilities
The Foreman is responsible for direct in-field supervision of a field crew working on all phases of Sitework & Underground utility tasks as directed by the Superintendent. Must have knowledge of Clearing & Grubbing, Demolition, Excavating, Grading, Paving, Concrete, Sanitary Sewer, Potable Water, and Storm Drainage. Capable of operating one or more of the following pieces of equipment, Excavator, Grader, Dozer, Backhoe, Front End Loader, and Skid steer. Oversee and lead crew from start to finish each day installing Sitework & Underground Utilities. Provide training, guidance, and support for all assigned field workers. Communicate and report to Superintendent. Attend meetings on a periodic basis. Assist in ensuring all job site goals including safety and productivity are met.
Qualifications
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in site work and underground utility installation without direct supervision and completing tasks assigned or started by the Superintendent
•Able to stand in as site leadership when the Superintendent is not on the site
•Ability to read and interpret Blueprints
•Ability to calculate elevations, percentages, and quantities
•Well-organized with Strong work ethic
•Work safely and efficiently
•Eager to learn new skills and tasks
•Knowledge of Pipe Laser, Pipe Transit, Line Level, GPS (Trimble)
•Knowledge of construction technology, codes, standards, etc.
•Leadership attributes include critical thinking skills, the ability analyze data and professional conduct
•High-stress tolerance; must be able to thrive in a high-pressure environment
•A highly motivated self-starting, autonomous individual who can work independently and set priorities while balancing guidance from the management team
•Must function well as part of the overall team
•Good Judgment: Critical thinking and problem-solving with the ability to make solid decisions to anticipate requirements and take appropriate actions to ensure the project stays on schedule
Benefits:
3 weeks of paid shutdowns per year (4th of July week and 2 weeks between Christmas and New Year’s)
3 days for Thanksgiving
All major holidays
Consideration for guaranteed 40 hours based on experience
