Project Landscape Architect

Description:
Stewart is seeking a creative, design-focused Project Landscape Architect. You will work in a highly collaborative, design-based team utilizing the skills of in-house experts from multiple disciplines. While working under the supervision of a Project Manager and Studio Leader, you will assist in visualizing designs and work on a diverse array of projects ranging from campus design, urban design to large scale master-planning, parks, and community spaces. This position affords a great range of responsibility and strong development within the studio.

In this position you will:
- Visualize projects through both hand and digital graphic practices.
- Assist with creation and editing of landscape and site drawings.
- Under supervision of the Project Manager, develop landscape architecture designs through site analysis, site layout, hardscape, furnishings, grading, site details, planting designs, and renderings.
- Assist Project Manager with planning, scheduling, developing, and coordinating project documentation.
- Perform design in accordance with accepted standard of practice and with local codes, ordinances, and statutory requirements having jurisdiction over the project.
- Perform Construction Observation and Administration related duties such as site visits, field reports, shop drawing & submittal review, and respond to contractor RFIs.
Skills Required:
- Thorough knowledge of landscape architecture design and methods related to site development activities.
- Sound judgment and skills to defend decisions and methodologies used to arrive at chosen solution or decision.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and permitting requirements.
- Proficient skill and experience with AutoCAD as well as advanced working knowledge and skills with other digital graphic design software including Sketchup, Lumion, Rhino, Civil3D and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Driver's license preferred.
- Demonstration of successful permitting experience preferred.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture required.
- Licensed Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) required.
