DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arcadis is seeking a Project Manager to help support projects in the Pittsburgh, PA area. The role will support our Places team.
Role description:
The Project Manager oversees the day-to-day operations from pre-construction through project completion and warranty periods. The Project Manager will primarily manage mission-critical, vertical construction projects in an industrial environment. The Project Manager is responsible for managing the construction project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, proposals, estimates, documentation turnover, client relations/management, field staff and other duties required to execute GMP/EPC, Construction Management, Construction, and Program Management projects.
Role accountabilities:
* Working with multidisciplinary technical leads in coordinated successful execution of projects in design and construction
* Participates in design review meetings and provides input regarding constructability, as well as scope and cost changes. Monitors the progress of design documents
* Prepares detailed estimates, cost code input, and cost control systems
* Prepares bid packages and invitation to bid inquiries, receiving and analyzing bids, qualifying subcontractors, and awarding subcontracts and major purchase orders
* Plans, sequences, and schedules the project with input from the client, engineering team, superintendent and contractors
* Directs the project schedule, conducts job site meetings and prepares updated schedules
* Responsible for project cost control including updating of labor cost reports, summary cost reports and project status summaries
* Directs requirements of governing authorities for permits, inspections, and final approval of the project with A/E
* Effectively manages client relations, including progress meetings, correspondence, periodic reports, change orders and response to client inquiries
* Prepares and secures owner acceptance of contract change orders. Issues modifications to subcontracts and purchase orders after owner acceptance and updates budget in summary cost report
* Represents Arcadis as a safety leader and advocate onsite ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], or equivalent) to ensure compliance and aggressive management of risks
* Reviews and monitors project progress, quality, and safety. Works with superintendent and makes corrections as required to comply with contract and company policy and procedures
* Effectively directs project close-out tasks and any warranty work
* Able to work independently and to solve complex problems associated with the management of costs and schedules with the project team
Key Skill and Attributes:
* Knowledge of estimating, construction methods, engineering, equipment and technology
* Excellent understanding of safety procedures
* Excellent organizational, supervisory, communication, collaboration and analytical skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Qualifications & Experience:
* 8+ Years of experience relevant experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related degree
* Expertise in managing resources, including budgets, schedules and materials in an environment of multiple, competing demands
* Experience with vertical, design-build project delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
* Masters Degree in engineering or relevant discipline
* Heavy Industrial, Laboratory, and/or Oil & Gas / Refinery experience
* CMAA (CCM), PE, RA, or PMP license / certification
