What you'll do
As the Project Manager for Utilimaster (a Shyft Brand) based at our facility in Bristol, IN, you will enjoy managing products from the quoting/selling phase through completion of the final vehicle in production.
Your main focus will be to partner with our Operations team to ensure all vehicles are completed on time with high quality. Your job will revolve around removing any and all roadblocks to keep our operations team from completing vehicles on time. This includes working through issues from Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Sales functions.
In essence, you will be the liaison between operations, manufacturing engineering, electrical and design engineering. You will find yourself in the middle of every problem and resolution, not always the subject matter expert but always driving a solution forward.
You will also:
• Lead phase reviews for each fleet run to ensure programs are launched and executed to meet customer commitment dates.
• Identify risks to commitment dates and work with a cross-functional team to mitigate any and all impacts to delivery.
• Trusted partner of the Operations, Sales and Engineering team.
o Partners with the Quality function to ensure Critical Customer Interfaces are understood and executed during production.
o Partners with Sales to inform the customer regularly on the status of the fleet run.
o When issues arise, the Project Manager will work with Sales and Operations to understand the impact and what that means for delivery to the committed date.
• Ensure non-fleet runs are executed and delivered to the customer commitment date.
• Escalate issues through leadership while continuing to find opportunities to put the program back on track to delivery commitments.
• As the conduit between the sales and operations function, be able to understand and execute to customer and business needs.
• Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Generate, explain, present, and improve detailed schedules, objectives, reports, and other documentation accurately.

What you need to be successful
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing or related field; in lieu of degree, 10+ years of operational experience in automotive or regulated industry
• Above all else, the ability to execute and deliver upon commitments.
• The ability to work within a team as the facilitator but also capable of taking charge and ownership to move the team towards the end goal, delivering vehicles on-time to commitments.
• Having a pragmatic approach to solving complex problems.
• Track record of leading and influencing without positional power
• 3+ years of operational
