About the Job
Olive Recruiting is looking for a Project Manager that will be responsible for planning, managing, and finalizing projects within strict deadlines while adhering to the allocated budget for a specialty rigging client in Manassas, Va. This role involves acquiring and coordinating resources, including personnel and third-party contractors or consultants, to ensure project delivery within established timelines. Additionally, the Project Manager will define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the entire project lifecycle.

- Oversee, evaluate, and enhance the efficiency of the project management team, ensuring alignment with the management principles set by the Senior Leadership Team.
- Participate in customer site visits, proposal development, and contract negotiations/reviews to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project scope, contractual obligations, and associated risks.
- Collaborate with the Project Sales Representative during project development, taking the project from initial sales discussions through execution. Maintain ongoing communication with the Project Sales Representative, documenting any changes that affect project scope, schedule, or budget agreements.
- Engage with customers, engineers, vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders during the design and planning phases to ensure smooth project execution.
- Work closely with the project team to create and maintain an overall project schedule, highlighting critical path items and proactively addressing potential issues. Identify and mitigate common challenges that can impact schedules, construction, and project costs by developing solutions with the project team.
- Regularly and accurately report on project status, including schedule progress, financial performance, risk assessments, quality, safety, and other key metrics.
- Coordinate work crews and schedule necessary equipment to ensure timely project delivery.
- Be available for travel as needed and demonstrate strong leadership skills in managing field operations.
- Strong working knowledge of engineering plans and specifications. Must be mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of machinery, heavy construction, and key principles of industrial project flow. Proficiency in basic math and geometry is essential. Demonstrated planning and leadership abilities are required.
- Understanding of construction contracts, proficiency in Windows-based software applications, and excellent time management skills.
- Some experience in rigging and technical fields is preferred.
- Experience sufficient to meet or exceed the essential duties outlined above.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
- PMP certification is preferred.
