Job Description:
The role involves managing the scope and schedule of a power distribution project in a data center, focusing on efficiency and redundancy of rack systems and busway routing. Key tasks include coordinating with multiple stakeholders, reviewing control sequences, and providing feedback to the design team. Financial management of power distribution contracts, procurement activities such as RFPs and vendor proposals, and oversight of power distribution rework are essential. The position requires ensuring compliance with the scope of work and specifications, attending project meetings, and reporting to management. Additionally, the role involves interpreting control drawings and bills of materials, as well as supervising vendor work on-site to adhere to design and local electrical codes. Timeliness under tight project deadlines is crucial.
Essential Functions:
- Manage scope and schedule of power distributed project to all the racks, evaluating efficiency and redundancy and how busways and whips are routed in a Data Center
- Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and requirements and navigate complex situations
- Review the control sequence of operation and provide feedback to the design team.
- Financially manage Power distribution contracts and assist in procurement-related activities including RFPs, responding to RFIs, review of vendors proposal, and issuance of purchase orders
- Perform comprehensive review of Power distribution rework
- Ensure data center Power distribution system are being deployed in accordance with scope of work (SOW) and specifications
- Review and provide feedback on power distributed project to all the racks, evaluating efficiency and redundancy and how busways and whips are routed in a Data Center
- Attend project related meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and regularly report status to Operations System management
- Work under tight project timelines
- Interpret controls drawings and wiring diagrams
- Interpret controls bill of material (BOM)
- Frequently visit (locally) assigned data centers to supervise vendor's work to ensure compliance with the design, submittal, and applicable local electrical codes (NEC etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma required
- Experience with industrial power and its distribution to all the racks, evaluating efficiency and redundancy and how busways and whips are routed
- Proven track record for cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, or customers
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork, organizational and problem-solving skills
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Electrical project management coordination with multiple teams or vendors to meet project requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Experience/Skills:
- Five (5) years of knowledge of Power distribution
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or other related engineering degrees preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required
