About the Job
Specialized Recruiting Group has a direct Hire opportunity for a Project Manager/Estimator in the City of West Covina. Will be responsible for leading the estimation and project management processes from pre-construction through to project closeout. This role combines responsibilities in cost estimation, bid preparation, and project coordination with client, subcontractor, and team communication. The ideal candidate will manage budgets, schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols, while fostering client relationships and driving high-performance team dynamics.
Salary $100K-$120K
Key Responsibilities:
Estimation and Bidding:
- Prepare detailed estimates, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and input for the assigned scope.
- Assemble bids and proposals for various contract types, including Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts.
- Develop value analysis studies by identifying cost-efficient alternatives.
- Perform comparison analyses to previous estimates and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Obtain, evaluate, and document subcontractor proposals, and participate in Post Bid Review meetings.
- Finalize subcontract scope recommendations for Project Lead approval and manage subcontractor relationships.
Project Management and Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, acting as a liaison with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
- Coordinate with the project team to eliminate scope gaps and ensure accurate scope requisitions for assigned trades.
- Lead document management, ensuring organized file structures for drawings and specifications and proper distribution to all relevant parties.
- Establish, update, and communicate the Master Project Schedule, managing timelines and ensuring alignment with project milestones.
- Work with the pre-construction team to align project requirements and collaborate on schedule and logistics.
Budgeting, Financial Reporting, and Risk Management:
- Manage project budget, financial reporting, and cost tracking, interpreting reports to ensure adherence to budget targets.
- Lead contract and subcontract negotiations, considering risk factors and pricing strategies.
- Initiate the Pay Application process and coordinate with Finance to ensure timely payments.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Implement and manage Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards throughout project execution.
- Ensure compliance with business ethics, safety protocols, insurance, labor relations, and employee relations requirements.
- Conduct regular Operations Review Meetings to provide management with project and budget updates.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in project management and estimation in the construction industry.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and quality standards effectively.
- Experience in contract negotiation, risk management, and team leadership.
