Talascend is currently seeking a Project Manager Estimator for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Livonia, MI.
OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a meticulous, thorough, and organized Construction Project Manager Estimator to join our growing team in the Department of Transportation division
Your primary responsibilities will be project management functions, accurate cost estimates, research products, preparing reports, and monitoring forecasts
You will also oversee communications with your clients and conduct risk assessments
To be successful in this position, you need to be analytically minded and a great problem solver
We are seeking applicants with excellent communication and people skills
Additionally, you need to have strong organizational and time management skills
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for estimating and managing bridge and road construction projects from start to finish
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop accurate cost estimates
Analyze and interpret project blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately estimate material, labor, and equipment costs
Prepare take-offs, the scope of work, and bid packages for bridge and road construction projects
Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain quotes
Analyze bid results, and prepare detailed proposals, and cost estimates for clients
Manage bridge and road construction projects from pre-construction to project completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
Monitor project progress and communicate with clients, subcontractors, and project team members to meet project goals
Develop project leads
Coordinate and manage all projects, and activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
Ensure that project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and project reports, is completed accurately and on time
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum education level of a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in bridge and road construction estimation and be knowledgeable of project management principles
Understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
A high degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with Self-Performing or Specialty Contractor
Experience in sales/marketing a plus
Strong leadership and management skills
Technology: Proficient with Microsoft Software- Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Proficient in project management software (Procore, Bluebeam)
Work Environment: As a Project Manager Estimator for our client, the employee will be subject to an office and job site/field setting
Work environments may include but are not limited to the following: seasonal temperatures, high spaces, small spaces, loud and frequent noises, standing/walking for up to 12 hours a day, and indoor/outdoor settings
Travel: To and from job sites is required
Our client will compensate for travel expenses if applicable
Our client has been the oldest and most experienced waterproofing and restoration contractor in the United States
