Sabot Consulting is currently seeking a Project Management resource to lead and perform activities to establish and document needs, requirements, processes, policies, standards, rules, roles, and responsibilities necessary to manage a data transformation and IT modernization project. This includes understanding the current state of the legacy application and its impact on business operations as well as suggestions on how to best obtain modernization.

Sabot Consulting is currently seeking a Project Management resource to lead and perform activities to establish and document needs, requirements, processes, policies, standards, rules, roles, and responsibilities necessary to manage a data transformation and IT modernization project. This includes understanding the current state of the legacy application and its impact on business operations as well as suggestions on how to best obtain modernization.
Responsibilities:
- Direct, lead, manage, and track all aspects of the engagement
- Work closely with State Project Director to define work scope and deliverables
- Ensure project and contract deliverables are met within resource estimates
- Ensure good working relationships within the project team, system integrator team, and business contacts
- Identify and resolve project issues
- Conduct research and develop reports as requested
- Develop estimates for Work Order Authorizations
- Track and report on project progress
- Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc project communications at all levels
- Coordinate project work of Consultants with State staff
- Develop and conduct monthly and as requested project briefings
- Develop and maintain detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Project Schedule
- Develop, maintain, and execute project management plans (risk and issue management, change control log, etc.)
Must Have:
- 7 years of full-time equivalent (FTE) experience providing diverse technical and management services to government agencies.
- 7 years of broad and extensive project management (PM) experience successfully managing information technology (IT) programs and projects
- 7 years of team building, knowledge transfer, and/or mentoring experience.
- 7 years of experience leading and facilitating team meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Conducting Readiness Assessments.
- Developing strategic plans for large and complex IT projects.
- 3 years experience with IT modernization of financial systems for government agencies.
Nice to have:
- 3 years Developing strategic plans for large IT projects
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current Scrum Master (CSM) certification issued by the Scrum Alliance (SA) or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Scrum Master certification.
