About the Job
Drodex is seeking a Project Manager (GeoSpatial), to support the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). ASPR is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.
The GIA Project Manager will be embedded within the Geospatial Integration and Analysis (GIA) team, responsible for overseeing and managing GIA‐specific initiatives. This role involves developing detailed project plans, coordinating resources, and ensuring that all GIA projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The GIA Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for project‐related communications, working closely with GIA leadership to align project outcomes with strategic
goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Geospatial Information Officer, this individual will also be a key member of the GIA Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction and overall management of the GIA program.
Position: Project Manager (Geospatial)
Location: Onsite - ASPR Headquarters (Washington, DC) (with possible remote support)
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans for GIA initiatives, including timelines, budgets,
- Resource Coordination: Coordinate internal resources within the GIA team to effectively allocate and manage resources for project success.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Track the progress and performance of GIA projects, making necessary
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and present project status reports to GIA leadership, ensuring transparency and stakeholder engagement.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement and refine project management best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of GIA project execution.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among GIA team members,
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for GIA project‐related communications, liaising with GIA leadership and other internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the day‐to‐day operations related to GIA project management,
- Guidance and Support: Provide training and guidance to GIA team members on project management methodologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of experience in project management, preferably with a focus on data and/or geospatial projects.
Required Education
- Graduate degree, in a related field
Required Experience
- Excellent client‐facing and internal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, including multitasking and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with geospatial technologies and data, is preferred but not
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently, identifying
- Highly motivated with a strong sense of responsibility, consistently
- Strong understanding of program management principles, including
- Advanced Software Skills: Advance/proficient in using MS suite of tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Projects, Word, etc… to manage projects, collaborate with teams, and create professional documentation.
