POSITION SUMMARY: (Summary description of the primary duties and objectives)
The Project Manager is responsible for leading project activities associated with current product refinements and new product development. They will provide leadership, direction, and prioritization for development teams in support of project objectives.
Responsibilities:POSITION PROFILE (Major duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities):
1. Lead development of low to medium complexity projects having accountability for meeting design criteria, key schedule milestones, cost and budget objectives from project contract approval through to production.
2. Provide project direction, prioritization and leadership for project teams. Must have a strong grasp of all areas involved in product development, and effectively plan and manage project activities.
3. Effectively communicating, negotiating, and coordinating with associates from all functions of the organization. Must be able to successfully influence internal and external contacts regarding complex and sensitive topics.
4. Establish a cohesive project team environment, delegate tasks and motivate others to produce results in a timely and productive manner.
5. Advocates on behalf of the project to creatively solve problems affecting project delivery.
6. Participate in various process improvement initiatives as well as other teams to improve functional performance.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Degree minimum: Bachelors Degree
Specific concentration: Engineering, Business, or Liberal Arts
Experience level: A minimum of 5 years experience in any/several of the following areas: Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales or Finance.
SPECIALIZED TRAINING/EDUCATION PREFERRED
- PMP Certification and MBA Preferred
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to manage cross-functional new product and derivative development teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects from cradle to grave.
- Demonstrated ability to move from a broad business strategy to hands on project leadership. Must be able to work with all levels within the organization.
- Solid business perspective; technical background is a plus.
- Ability to direct others in developing sound and creative solutions to complex problems on a timely basis.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, through thorough analysis, effective delegation, sound judgment and timely decision making.
- Positive attitude and the ability to build good working relationships with others, both internal and externally.
