About the Job
A Project Manager, IT at Family Dollar will be responsible for planning and executing components of key strategic projects in the IT Department. This role will function as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams to coordinate the business strategy with the tactical work of IT.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Effectively facilitate project tasks, resources, workload and schedule
- Serve as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
- Track and report on project, budget and resources
- Educate business on applications and processes
- Forecast changes in demand, capacity and resources
- Monitor projects, personnel and financial performance
- Assign tasks, resources and priorities to team
- Provide recommendations to business units regarding process and options
- Report and track project, budget and resources
- Plan, review, revise and procure appropriate resources
- Evaluate the project for completion on time and within budget
- Prepare reports and project status updates for stakeholders on the status of the project
- Maintain projects in Planview for visibility across the portfolio
- Take business requirements and develop project plan
- Create JIRA tickets and assign requirement gathering to business analysts
- Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure and risk management to ensure projects are in accordance with corporate and industry standards
- Develop RFP's for needed hardware, software and professional services
- Maintain project document repository
- Facilitate all phases of project through implementation
- Coordinate communication with all areas of the enterprise that impact the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience required.
Experience: 3 - 5 years of related project management experience.
Job Related Skills: Experience participating and playing a leadership role in cross-functional IT projects; Ability to build relationships and trust with a variety of business partners quickly; excellent verbal and written communication skills; capacity to multi-task and provide effective follow up; sense of urgency and drive to work towards results and deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in any type of Project Management technology (MS Project, Planview); advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Certifications: PMP certification or Six Sigma certification
