Functional Skills:
- Defines project scope and objectives
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports
- Conducts project meetings and produces meeting minutes and issues logs
- Produces risk analysis and risk mitigation plans
- Responsible for project tracking and analysis
- Ensures adherence to Project Management Process, Systems Development Methodology and quality standards for producing project deliverables
- Provides project management, technical and analytical guidance to the project team
- Ensures quality deliverables are produced as planned
- Ensures Release of application across and handle the release independently
- POSITION SCOPE:
- Interfaces with all areas affected by the project:examples include business sponsors, operations, application development, end users, computer services, client services, operations, vendors, etc.
- Manages vendor selection, contract negotiations, the integration of vendor tasks into the work plan and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables:examples include software development artifacts such as design artifacts and test plans
- Manages people, work and resources as planned:examples include business analysts, application developers and testers
- Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solution of complex problems:examples includes resource availability conflicts that jeopardize project budget and/or schedule expectations
- Candidate should have core experience in IT infrastructure having background networking projects, Server upgrades.
- MS Project in order to develop detailed work plans, schedules
- Developing project estimates and resource plans
- Documenting coherent and concise project status reports including issues and risks
- Conducting project meetings and subsequently documenting/distributing meeting minutes and action item, including responsibilities for same, in a timely manner
- Progressing complex project schedules, identify and manage the project's critical path, proactively identifying and escalating risks to project's schedule, budget or quality
- Tracking project expenses, forecasting future spend, calculating estimates-at-complete and proactively advising of forecasted variances along with proposed corrective action
- Managing the participation of resources assigned to the project and holding them accountable for completing tasks in line with the effort and timeline estimates they provide – escalating issues proactively to resource's manager to mitigate impacts to project expectations
- Managing a team of resources through all phases of the systems development life cycle including the production of deliverables associated with advancing through the phases
- Managing multiple major projects simultaneously utilizing standard project management processes as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
- PowerPoint presentation development
- Excel to support project budget estimation and forecasting
- Reviewing vendor's statements of work for completeness and relevance to project objectives
- Managing vendors in the execution of their statement of work and holding them accountable; anticipating/escalating to direct supervisor if gaps or issues
- Requesting and obtaining commitments for project team resources, preferably via automated processes (ie. enterprise project management tools)
