- General:
- Provide leadership for the project team.
- Be coach/cheerleader
- Get to know the customer and communicate with them regularly, both formally and informally.
- Know and understand scope and contract requirements of each project. Manage each project according to these elements.
- Develop a Project Organization Chart for each project.
- Submit and receive for distribution to department the completed specification sheets.
- Regularly meet, both formally and informally, with project team members to keep communication channels open.
- Approve and distribute Project Change Authorizations.
- Ensure that customers receive project updates.
- Initiate Request to Invoice Customers form per contracts.
- Take photos of equipment as set up for shipping forms are signed prior to power being pulled.
- Provide leadership for the project team.
- Schedule
- Assist in the creation of Master Schedule
- Assist in creating and maintaining Microsoft Project Schedule.
- Cost
- Review and react to the cost projection report.
- Review Manager's Timeline Reports and follow up as needed.
- Attend Production Coordination Team Meetings and project-related meetings as scheduled.
- Ensure that project stays within original scope (Control with Project Change Authorizations).
- Ensure that original budgets are maintained (control with Project Change Authorizations).
- Communications
- Regularly attend PIT Meetings.
- Maintain and contribute to Project Open Issues List (Maintain a log of appropriate meeting minutes, punch lists, submitted by Team).
- Review bi-weekly with department teams the status of projects.
- Engineering for each project
- Monitor and follow up on Engineering progress throughout the project.
- Purchasing Coordination
- Ensure that long lead items are communicated
- Follow all purchases via the MS Project Schedule
- Contract, negotiate, and schedule major purchases (i.e. press, oilers, dies, installation services, etc.)
- Line Check-Out
- Accompany customers during check-out.
- Ensure that line check-out sheets are completed and signed. (mech., elect., eng.)
- Manage punch lists.
- Make sure that photographs are taken of the line as set up at AFCo for use in installation.
- Manuals
- Follow up that manuals are completed, updated and sent to the customer in a timely manner.
- Installation
- Ensure Requests for Quote for installation contractors are completed, updated and sent to customer in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain the installation schedule.
- Coordinate AFCo sign-up sheets for the field service installation.
- Supervise field service installations when applicable.
- Mange the installation contractors
- Schedule
- Project Change Authorization
- Daily Reports (including activity and hours use daily work logs)
- Customer Plant Start-Up (CPS)
- Coordinate AFCo Start-Up Team.
- Ensure that the CPS Customer Satisfaction Survey is provided to the start-up team for customer feedback.
- Ensure all customer final acceptance tests are completed
- Manage all punch lists.
- Project Wrap-Up
- Conduct Project Evaluation meetings for all project phases.
- Ensure that feedback from the project Evaluation meetings is filed for future use as part of R&M mistake proofing.
- Ensure Final Cost Report is completed.
Job requirements:
- Associate's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in project coordination.
- Dedicated and strong leader.
- Excellent product/customer knowledge.
- Highly organized with a high energy level.
- Excellent communicator and facilitator.
- Ability to set goals for and maintain direction in project meetings.
- Must be a confident decision maker.
- Must be respected by management, peers and subordinates.

- Must be proficient in: Microsoft Project, Excel, Word.
- Project management training or related experience in project coordination.
- Project management professional certification or a desire to obtain certification.
- Willingness to travel as required.

Work Environment:
Normal office environment. Involved in small and large meetings. Will be required to travel to customer plants, vendor offices/plants, and construction sites.
