Merrick & Company's Nuclear Services & Technology team provides full service nuclear design solutions to the federal government (DOE, NNSA), nuclear research, nuclear medicine, and the commercial nuclear power industries. Merrick is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to serve as a Project Manager to support our operations in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Merrick has some very exciting projects including design of specialty equipment for the National Nuclear Security Administration and Department of Energy. With our success in winning large, complex, and exciting projects, we need a strong project manager with discipline, ingenuity, motivation, and skills to lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and designers. Merrick is seeking candidates who have technical and project management experience with design and construction of nuclear/hazardous facility structures, systems, and components with an emphasis on confinement of radioactive and other hazardous materials.
Typical salary range for this position is $149,000.00 - $188,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:- Direct technical teams and serve as the primary interface with clients, project controls, procurement professionals, and senior management.
- Serve as a point of contact with the customer.

- Work under a well-established ASME NQA-1 quality assurance program.
- Direct engineering leads.
- Manage project resources.
- Effectively manage medium to large sized multi-disciplinary projects, including monitoring and controlling scope, schedule, cost, quality, and day to day project activities.
- Execute projects per the project plans, manages change, and ensures technical adequacy of the project deliverables.
- Responsible for implementing internal accounting and record keeping practices.
- Review design documents for conformance to company standards and compliance with client’s scope of work.
- Accountable for financial performance of projects in alignment with strategic objectives and project-specific targets including gross margin.
- Prepare and control external communication and invoices.
- Provide accurate revenue recognition, earned value, and similar reporting to senior management.
- Provide project planning, scoping, and fee development.
- Market for new work, propose on new opportunities, and develop a network of clients.
- Lead proposal preparation, estimating, and scheduling.
- Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
- Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Sciences in Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program is required.
- The client projects for this position require your ability to obtain and maintain a DOE uncleared badge.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in the technical fields described
- Five (5) or more years of experience as a project manager in an A&E environment
- Proficient in overall project management, client management, project communication, development of scope and fees, budget management, basic understanding of technical services, and ability to deliver quality services and deliverables
- Background in nuclear facility design and engineering
- Experience with DOE or NNSA projects
- Experience with nuclear quality assurance standards
- Experience with supervising engineers and designers
- Experience with scheduling software (e.g. MSProject, Primavera)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage details for multiple projects concurrently
- Works successfully in a collaborative environment using effective communication skills and technology
- Skills to perpetuate and grow existing client base
- Ability to develop credibility and trust with project stakeholders and build high-performing technical teams
- Certifications: Professional Engineering licensure
- Certifications: PMP Certificate
- Familiarity with CAD design platforms (e.g. CREO and REVIT)
- Active Q-Clearance or ability to obtain Q-Clearance
